Like most other people in Arizona, Samie Kaczkowski isn't originally from here. She moved to the desert from Wisconsin a few years ago and immediately planted her roots in the Scottsdale fitness community.
Besides the cute way that she pronounces her A's and her O's, Samie's colleagues and clients love her incredible Midwestern hospitality, signature smile, and personable teaching style.
If Samie isn't eating at True Food Kitchen, she is managing the Barre3 Paradise Valley studio. Catch her at the front desk or on the mic.
Q: How long have you worked in the fitness industry and what got you started?
A: Two and a half years. I took my first barre3 class three years ago while on vacation in FL, fell in love and never looked back. There ended up being a studio about 15 minutes from my home and I started taking classes immediately when I got home and then started the instructor-in-training process soon after.
Q: What brought you to the Valley and how are you involved in the community?
A: My husband's job brought us here. Our barre3 tribe is heavily involved in the community through different events and fundraisers
Q: What inspires you to continue working as an instructor?
A: Barre3 has completely changed my life and I just love being able to share that gift with others. It truly is such a transformational place.
Q: How do you enjoy motivating clients?
A: I enjoy motivating clients by meeting them where they're at. I never want someone to feel discouraged, so just making sure they feel loved on and encouraged is super important to me. These classes were designed to make you feel good and feel strong in your body. I also love helping people push past where they would normally go - maybe that means holding a plank a little longer or having the courage to pull back one day if they aren't really feeling it.
Q: What do you value most when it comes to workout apparel.
A: Comfort and durability - it's gotta feel good and it's gotta last!
Q: What are the top 5 things that you are grateful for in life?
A: Family, Friends, Health, Adventures & travel, Community
Q: Describe a time when you experienced a random act of kindness and how it affected you.
A: My amazing barre3 team shows me and others random acts of kindness all the time. We take care of each other - when someone is hurting or going through a tough time, this incredible group of women ALWAYS steps up and makes sure that person is loved on. It really is one of the best gifts to have these people in my life.
Q: What puts a smile on your face every day?
A: Truly just the fact that I am so blessed to be doing what I'm doing. Every single day I have the opportunity to make someone's day and that just feels really special to me.
